Cowra is a Central West NSW town on the Lachlan River. It sits at the junction of the Mid Western & Olympic Hwys 310 km west of Sydney. The Cowra breakout (1944) in which Japanese POWs escaped from a local internment camp, has become a large part of the town’s identity. Main industries are livestock, vineyards, tourism & vegetable growing & processing.
